Clarice Wine Company

This is my flagship winery and my legacy. Named after my grandmother, this is where I take my 30+ years of winemaking and vineyard experience and “Frank Sinatra it” – I do it my way. Here I work with two of California’s finest vineyards – the Garys’ and Rosella’s Vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands – and from the ground up create Pinot Noirs of character and distinction. The Pinot Noirs are my finest efforts and are meant to stand the test of time. I appreciate your consideration of them.

This is a joint venture between myself, Morét Brealynn, and one of Santa Barbara County’s leading grape growers, John Wagner. Working with John’s grapes in the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley, we produce wines that delight the palate at prices that please the pocketbook. The playful packaging reflects the spirit of the wines as well. Morét Brealynn Wines

I am honored to work with Morét Brealynn on her small production wines, crafted primarily from vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Morét’s dedication to her wines begins in the vineyard, and it is always a pleasure to walk the vines with her and watch her work the fruit. Her thoughtfulness with the vines and passion for learning bring a refreshing perspective to my consulting work. Although relatively new to winemaking, she seems to come by it naturally, and tasting her work and helping her with her blends is one of the highlights of my year.

Bucher Wines

I’ve made wines for John and Diane Bucher since their inaugural vintage in 2011. Their iconic vineyard on Westside Road in the Russian River Valley has been the source for great wines from wineries such as Williams Selyem and Papapietro Perry. Working with Bucher grapes from throughout their 360-acre property, we create several different Bucher Estate bottlings, each representing a unique and compelling expression of site.

Rombauer Wines

With the 2020 vintage, I began working with Rombauer Vineyards on the creation of their first Pinot Noir. The initial release came from the 2021 vintage, a blend of five superb vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. With 2022, we will release a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Garys’ Vineyard along with a Santa Lucia Highlands blend. I am honored to work with the talented winemaking team at Rombauer to introduce outstanding Pinot Noirs to their devoted followers.

Roar Wines

I made six vintages of Roar Wines beginning in 2001. I’ve worked with the Franscioni family on every vintage, starting as winemaker and now as a consultant (their winemaker is the uber talented Scott Shapley – my first employee at Siduri). I am always amazed by the Franscioni’s persistent pursuit of quality – both in the vineyards and the winery. Blending the Roar Pinot Noirs each vintage reminds me what the true pursuit of quality at all costs is like.

VinZant Wines

A new project working with the George Vineyard and restauranteur Whitney VinZant, focusing on wines from the Sonoma Valley. A steep hillside vineyard produces superbly concentrated grapes and I get to try my hand at producing both Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend. More to come.
