Today is My 60th Birthday!

And to celebrate 6 decades of life, I’ve selected 6 of my favorite bottles to share with you all. These are not necessarily the highest critic-rated wines, but my own personal favorites and what I would drink given the choice. Some of these wines are very limited in quantity.

2017 Clarice Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir – My favorite wine from the inaugural vintage of Clarice. This is drinking perfectly now. 30 bottles available. $98 per bottle. ORDER HERE

2018 Clarice Rosella’s Vineyard Pinot Noir – My favorite Clarice vintage thus far (not yet counting 2023), 2018 is everything I want Clarice to be. This wine shows loads of red fruit flavors and drinks well after an hour or so being open – but will easily make old bones. $98 per bottle. ORDER HERE

PRESENT

2022 Moret-Brealynn Stray Dogs Pinot Noir – this wine shows the forest floor character that I associate with the Sonoma Coast and the richness of the 2022 vintage. This makes for really good drinking now while also being really interesting. $50 per bottle. ORDER HERE

2022 Clarice Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir – in a year where pretty was hard to come by this wine is pretty. Beautiful red fruits and the complexity that comes from lots of stems – it is also one of the lowest alcohol wines I’ve made in ages. It needs a few hours aeration to drink now and should age well. $98 per bottle. ORDER HERE

2023 Dial Tone Banta Barbara County Pinot Noir – I loved the 2021 Dial Tone but think this wine is even better. It’s all about bright fruit and fun drinking. Put a slight chill on it and it goes down way to easily! $29.50 per bottle. ORDER HERE

2023 Moret-Brealynn Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir – cool vintages like 2023 and the Sonoma Coast were made for each other. This wine shows incredibly precise fruit and wonderful acidity. I took this wine out to lunch with Tom Capo of Wine Enthusiast along with several other 2023 wines and this is the wine he took home with him. $50 per bottle. ORDER HERE
