MORÉT’S ROSÉ IS BACK!
Every year about this time, when Morét releases her Santa Lucia Highlands Rosé of Pinot Noir, I turn into Steve Martin in The Jerk when the new phonebook arrives. I know it’s coming. It comes every year. And yet I still find myself bouncing around like a lunatic because I just can’t wait.
Morét has already warned me that I’m not allowed to tell people, “This is her best rosé yet,” because eventually no one will believe me. So, in the interest of domestic harmony, I won’t say that.
But here’s what I can say:
This is her most aromatic rosé yet.
Imagine the beautiful weight and presence of the 2023 release, combined with one of the most remarkably perfumed, expressive noses I’ve ever found on any wine, anywhere. It’s vivid, energetic, and ridiculously drinkable — the kind of rosé that disappears from the glass far too quickly.
Now for the (small) bit of bad news: production of the 2025 Morét-Brealynn Santa Lucia Highlands Rosé of Pinot Noir is down about 18% from last year.
As you may recall, the 2024 was California’s highest-rated rosé. And while I absolutely will not say this one is even better… I also don’t see any universe in which it doesn’t receive incredible accolades.
Which means: this will not last long.
