2022 Clarice Wine Company Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir – 96 POINTS JEB DUNNUCK
My favorite of the trio is the 2022 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard, which has a darker, spicier, more exotic profile in its red and black fruits, roasted herbs, leather, and savory, dried floral, iron-like nuances that all develop with air. This beauty is medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, juicy acidity, and a gorgeous finish. The Garys’ Vineyard was fermented with 83.3% stems and aged all in new barrels.
2023 Moret-Brealynn Lakeview Vineyard Pinot Noir – 95 POINTS JEB DUNNUCK
Raised for 10 months in 100% new French oak from three different coopers, the 2023 Pinot Noir Lakeview Vineyard leads with more hallmark Russian River Valley notes of ripe cherries, graham cracker spices, fresh purple flowers, and sweet herbs. The palate is focused and linear, and it has fantastic tension and a clean, refreshing feel, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and a gently tapering finish. A beautiful vintage with lots of finesse, this lovely wine is only going to improve over the next several years. Drink 2025-2037. This is Moret’s third year working in this vineyard.
