“The 2024 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay (aged in neutral oak) sails out with expressive notes of ripe juicy pears, green guava, and honeydew melon, followed by hints of allspice and lemon tart. The medium- to full-bodied palate is satiny and refreshing with great intensity of orchard and tropical fruit flavors, finishing spicy.”
The 2023 Dial Tone Chardonnay has been a HUGE HIT – so much so that it is now SOLD OUT. Sometimes, it is sad when a wine sells out, but in this case, we were anxious to move into the 2024 Vintage as it is, we think, the best Chardonnay we’ve made together – ever.
Stainless steel fermented, 100% malolactic fermentation, aged in 50% older French oak and 50% remaining in stainless, had led to a Chardonnay that is simultaneously crisp and clean and yet rich and mouth-filling. It’s got enough stuffing to deal with Holiday meals, and also enough crispness to break open should a “Spring Day” break out during the winter months.
