Morét Brealynn Wines
Morét Brealynn (More-ay Bree-lynn) is California born and raised and proud of it. Though her name is French, she’s 100% Mexican, and moved from Davis to Sonoma County in 2011. Morét has been in the industry for over a decade and her unbridled passion for wine and invaluable insights gained along the way finally led her to producing a label of her very own!
Morét began her wine career in hospitality at the tasting rooms of Silver Oak Cellars and Twomey, where she quickly realized there was so much more to wine than properly pronouncing ‘Sauvignon’. Gaining a solid foundation she then moved on to a marketing position at Kosta Browne where she organized all winemaker and principal involvement in national and local events. During harvest, she would turn off her computer for the day and walk to the cellar to help sort grapes, ask questions about what’s being fermented, or help the team with whatever task was at hand. She loved the camaraderie and excitement around the fruit, but forever a night owl, didn’t pursue cellar work so she could maintain her deeply cherished sleep schedule. However, a passion ensued…
Morét spent the next five years at HALL Family Wines. At HALL, she started in PR then moved on to manage the Hall’s book, A Perfect Score. Morét managed multiple departments and companies to propel the book to the New York Times Bestsellers List (#11, so good it got number one twice) along with 40+ events for the book tour. Through that role, she formed a strong connection with vintner Kathryn Walt Hall and at the end of the project, became Kathryn’s Executive Assistant. Alongside Kathryn, Morét was exposed to all aspects of the wine industry – from production to distributor relationships, HR, event planning, the importance of philanthropy and mental health, the list goes on. Morét would use her lunch break to run around the famed Sacrashe Vineyard and loved watching the vines change throughout the seasons. Then, in 2020 when the world had to pivot, Morét became the Happy Hour Show Producer for the company’s multiple social channels. This role expanded to being able to meet and work with A-List talent from Tina Fey, the cast of Schitt’s Creek, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Martin Short, countless athletes, musicians, and other inspiring individuals. In that group, Morét met Adam Lee, co-founder of Siduri Wines and owner and winemaker for Clarice and Beau Marchais wineries. Adam was impressed with the professionalism and organization of the show and after further discussions, Morét joined him as his General Manager. Morét’s exposure to the production side of the wine industry grew and her passion for making her own wine could no longer be ignored (and Adam gave her a really good deal on his older barrels).
Through Adam, Morét met Jim Pratt, who manages vineyards around Sonoma County, including Lakeview Vineyard in Russian River Valley. Jim offered her the opportunity to source four tons of Pinot Noir for her first vintage in 2021. Morét Brealynn now produces Pinot Noir from this vineyard, along with two Appellation Pinot Noirs, a Rosé, and a very limited White wine and Zinfandel. Morét was recently named as one of Sonoma County’s Top Winemakers to Watch in 2024 and has been profiled in many wine publications and in Forbes.
Morét is also a Board Member of Wine Women, a non-profit focused on connecting women in the wine industry through educational, fun, networking opportunities. She serves as the Director of Programs, creating unique engagements to interact with the community. When Morét isn’t working in wine, you’ll likely find her stuck in a bunker on a golf course or eating carne asada tacos with cheese alongside her trusted German Shephard sidekick, Stout.
