Wine Knerds Get-to-Know-Us-Special
(and do a little good while you’re at it)
Hey All,
I’m so glad I couldn’t sleep and saw when Jeremy posted about wanting to help out Knerd businesses and allowing a commercial post every Tuesday and Thursday. Not until now did I think getting old AF and having to pee at 2am was a good thing!
For those that don’t know – I am Adam Lee – founder of Siduri Wines so very long ago. I made those Pinot Noirs until selling Siduri to Jackson Family almost 10 years ago. Like some damn idiot, I didn’t retire and decided to continue making Pinot under a new very small production label, Clarice Wine Company. Here I take all that I’ve learned over 30+ years and combine that with now mature Pinot vines in the Santa Lucia Highlands and great grape growing (the Pisoni and Franscioni families), to make what I honestly think are the best wines of my career.
The best thing that came from continuing to produce wine after selling Siduri? I meet Morét-Brealynn Chavez. We met during COVID where she was working at HALL winery. She became my General Manager for my various projects, we started dating, and now we are getting married in March, 2025 (yeah, I am one lucky son-of-a-bitch). Morét wanted to try her hand at making wine and started doing so in 2021. Since then, she’s been named one of 6 Wineries to Know as the Future of California Wine by Food & Wine Magazine, one of Sonoma’s Top New Winemakers by Sonoma Magazine, and featured in Vinous, Dunnuck, etc. (if this continues, I am thinking about retirement again). Morét concentrates her winemaking efforts on Pinot Noir in Sonoma County.
Together, Morét and I thought that California needs better, honest, dry, fairly priced Pinot Noirs and thus we started Dial Tone and Busy Signal Pinot Noirs. These wines are made from super grapes in Santa Barbara County, without very little new French oak, thus allowing the fruit to shine through.
For this chance to introduce our efforts to Wine Knerds we’ve come up with two different 3-pack offerings. A Regular Knerd and a Super Knerd offering so to speak. And we’ve decided to take it a step further…with $10 from every Regular Knerd Pack sold and $20 from every Super Knerd Pack sold being donated to the Go Fund Me Campaign for the Family of our fellow Knerd, Ben Oberto (Fundraiser for Laura Leatherberry by Jennifer Powell : Supporting Ben Oberto’s family after his tragic death). I didn’t know Ben as well as many of you – but when his daughter was looking at colleges and was considering Trinity University in San Antonio, he reached out to me to learn about the school (I went there) and I remember thinking, “what a fucking amazing Dad to go to that extent for his kid.” So, even if you don’t buy our packs, visit Ben’s Go Fund Me Site and let’s push it past it’s goal of $120k. But, if you want to try some fun wine, learn a bit about what we are doing, and do some good also, then give us a shot.
Cheers,
Adam & Morét
